ETH Zurich ( has purchased and received 3 powerful servers (Quad Core Intel Xeon, E5620 2.4GHz, 36GB RAM, 2TB disk space) to improve support for future experiments in the Zurich OFELIA Island. The team at ETHZ is currently integrating these new server devices with the existing switching infrastructure based on NEC’s IP8800 series of switches and the OFELIA control framework (FlowVisor, opt-in manager, expedient). Capable of hosting various simultaneous experiments, the servers will also provide a perfect environment for conducting performance tests for single experiments.
