The OFELIA project was represented at the recent GEC13 with the following demonstration:

  • Parallel service dependent load-balancing
Parallel service dependent load-balancing: We provided a technical demonstration for the idea of a typical data-center required load-balancing solution with OpenFlow. The demo showed parallel load-balancing on the OFELIA TUB-Island using tools like FlowVisor and NOX including the developed load-balancing plug-ins. We showed how to create a virtual topology and measure the real hardware performance of the described load-balancing scenario.

It was a very successful meeting with excellent exchange of information about the architecture, experiments and network federation.

GEC13, the13th GENI Engineering Conference took place March 13-15, 2012 in Los Angeles, USA. GENI Engineering Conferences are regular open working meeting where researchers, developers, industrial & international partners and the GENI Project Office meet. GENI, the Global Environment for Network Innovations, is a virtual laboratory for exploring future internets at scale, creates major opportunities to understand, innovate and transform global networks and their interactions with society.
